Sweet Winter Wishes – MFT Stamps

Welcome back to my blog friends! Today is a preview of the new card kit hitting the MFT shop tomorrow at 10 AM ET! It is called Gingerbread House, and it makes an adorable gingerbread house with sweets. Be sure to stop by the MFT blog to see how the rest of the design team used the products. You can make variations of the gingerbread house or just use the candies. So don’t feel boxed in. But it makes cute holiday cards, perfect for the season. For my first sample, I wanted to mimic a vintage-y gingerbread house on a postcard.

STEP-BY-STEP INSTRUCTIONS
  1. On a panel of Sno Cone cardstock, stamp and white heat emboss the Snowflake Flurry Background.
  2. Die cut the panel with the scalloped die in Blueprints 21 Die-namics.
  3. Die cut another panel with the scalloped die from white cardstock and then trim a snow slope.
  4. Adhere the layers together on an A2 card base.
  5. Ink smoosh a panel of kraft heavy stock with gathered twigs distress oxide and vintage photo distress inks. Keep adding layers until you’re happy with the panel.
  6. Die cut the pieces of the Gingerbread House Die-namics from the kraft cardstock.
  7. On the parts of the house, stencil crackle paste through the English Brick stencil. It does not have to be perfect. As the paste dries, it will pick up color from the background as the ink is water based.
  8. Die cut the accessories for the house from white cardstock and color with red and green copic markers. Adhere together with liquid glue ad add around the scene.
  9. Add white mica flakes to the tops of the house and chimney.
  10. Stamp a sentiment from Gingerbread Greetings and adhere on the bottom of the house.
  11. To create the “postcard”, die cut a couple small dies from Postage Stamp STAX Die-namics. Stamp with various stamps from First Class Friend. Add a gingerbread man on top of the largest “stamp”.

Hope you’re inspired to check out the kit. Thanks for reading!
